Website statistics: In February we were able to welcome on our website 19'081 visitors

                                from 107 different countries  who did 302'486 hits

                                (January = 15'297 visitors - 100 countries - 249'787 hits)

On October 18th, 2004, we celebrated our 20th anniversary "on the road" in

St. Martin/St. Maarten in the Caribbean, after having driven through 150 countries.

Since December 28th, 2004, we are back in Guyana, the small country at the Northeast corner of
South America. Our LandCruiser followed from the Netherlands Antilles by sea with the
American SeaboardMarine and the Dutch EWL on a free transport on January 17th, 2005, exactly
on the day when the big rains arrived and Guyana has seen the worst floods in history. Schools,
businesses, supermarkets and government offices closed its doors. So did the customs, and the
flooding delayed the incredible formalities too, which continued 22 days until we got our car
released, surprisingly free of duties and fees - a new record of the bureaucracy!

Last week our car's radiator, which was blocked completely, has been cleaned and the corrupt
water pump replaced. Within the next few days, the rear differential will be overhauled again,
although 10'000 miles ago it was replaced actually as new. This will hopefully enable us to cross
the Iwokrama jungle without any problems on its track to the Rupununi savannah. There a
famous rodeo is held over Easter time in the "wild west town" of Lethem near the Brazilian border.

On February 13th, we received our new IBM-Laptop ThinkPad G40 coming from Miami. Now,
as all the installations and the backups of the broken old one are done, we are going to update
our website and to reply to all of the more than 60 senders of emails, who are still waiting. Thus
we were able to put online today our story "Goodbye from the Caribbean" - to be found in the

"Diary", - as well as the first part of the "Guyana Report" - listed below.
