Here in Miri, in the East Malaysian province of Sarawak on the island of Borneo, the "overhaul machinery"
starts slowly to work. Hence our "little house", i.e. the body of our LandCruiser, has been stripped thoroughly
exposing its old age of nearly 25 years. With some pictures on our website, we show the repair's progress
under "All-round rejuvenation". Now it's also the engine's turn. On the contrary to the bad rust condition of the
body, the motor presents itself in a surprisingly good shape despite its 382'000 sometimes difficult miles driven
on all the continents. It's planned that by the end of July our Toyota will be back on the road - may be we have
to add some additional days. Simultaneously we are going rigorously through all our accumulated stuff sorting it
out and keeping only what we really need. It's amazing what has been collected during all the 22 years and it's
even more striking what can be stowed in such a relatively small vehicle.

But it's also we who are undergoing some treatment - exactly at the dentist. It's time to have checked and
repaired our teeth, neglected already too long over the years. During the first part of the "renovation" we rented
a room in a small guesthouse, the TreeTops Lodge, situated beautifully on the jungle's edge, approximately
12 miles South of Miri. On August 1st, we shall move to our friend's house in the Miri-Shell-Camp, where we
are fortunate to do 'house-sitting' during their month's vacation to England.

Miri/Sarawak/Malaysia (Borneo): Unser gestrippter LandCruiser - nun ein Geisterauto

Still no relevant news yet regarding the car entry permits from the Philippines and Indonesia - like already two
months ago. Although the Department of Tourism of the Philippines contacted us recently again, the final
breakthrough didn't happen (yet).
