Singapore is already history again. It was by now our third visit to Singapore, when we got back our
LandCruiser on September 21st. Unharmed and without any problems, it was released from its
"container-prison" to the road after nearly two months of being on high seas. Two days later, we left the
island- and city-country of Singapore via the causeway bridge to Johor Bahru.

Currently, we are in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Like Singapore, now also Malaysia and soon
Thailand too, they are not new countries for us, because we visited them already between
October 1993 and March 1994 after we arrived from Australia and before we left for Oman to tour the
Middle East. This makes us now driving the distance of 1'200 miles to Bangkok faster than usual. What
surprises us up to now the most, is the incredible construction boom here within the last 12 years. This
concerns not only all kind of buildings (skyscrapers, government buildings, shopping malls, condominiums and
towers), but also the amazing creation of a huge highway system. We are going to stay a little longer in Kuala
Lumpur, because we are scanning now 1'400 selected slides to put them later online. With these pictures from
our first 12 years of travel we would like to make our website more interesting.

The peninsula of Malaysia will get soon its rainy season. It is very hot, humid and muggy and the rains are
increasing. On the other hand, the precipitations North of the 10th degree latitude are diminishing in
November, what will make by then our visit to the still unknown countries of Indochina more enjoyable.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On July 7th, 2005, we were able to celebrate after a journey through 150 countries the car's
600'000th Kilometer - very prosaic before the post office in Cayenne/French Guiana.
