SWISS RECORD-BREAKING CAR DRIVER
TO VISIT DOMINICA

---- A Swiss car driver, who is considered
the world record holder for the longest driven
journey in a single car will be visiting Dominica
from March 26th for a two week stay on The Nature
Island.
The driver, Emil Schmid who will be
accompanied by his wife, is expected to be
travelling with his Swiss Licensed Toyota
Landcruiser. The couple has visited
138 countries in their landcruiser, placing them
in the Guinness Book of Record as “The longest
driven journey in a single car.” During this
segment of their travel they are expected to visit
several Caribbean islands, giving them the
opportunity to drive through his part of the
world.
The NDC sees the visit of Mr. Schmid
as an opportunity to help provide Dominica with
additional promotion as an adventure and sports
tourism destination.
The visit of the Schmids to Dominica
is receiving the strong support by the Division of
Tourism, The Dominica Port Authority, Ministry of
Finance, the Commonwealth of Dominica Police
Force, and Ms Sandra Whitcher.
