When our "News Update – February 2011" was published on February 28th, 2011, we were still waiting for our LandCruiser coming
from the Philippines. It really arrived over that weekend and on March 7th, the car release procedure started. We expected it to be a
"breeze" – which could have worked out that way if we obliged to all the desires – but it became five tough days of waiting. On
March 11th, shortly before the start of the weekend, finally we were allowed to leave the port of Colombo.

Because we knew already way back that a German journalist will arrive five days later who would accompany us during some days, we
remained in Colombo though we knew it already quite well – there is anyway not that much to see. Emil realized that his knees start
causing more and more problems what made him go to a doctor and have an x-ray made. In between, we were able to complete the
pictures from our Philippines trip, thus the islands of Cebu and Bohol are now also online.

After the arrival of our guest we took off for our first overland "adventure" into the interior of the island, sitting three in the front. Despite
of the chaotic road traffic, everything was running normally, as expected. But shortly after our new friend's departure, troubles appeared
on the horizon: Even if the x-rays didn't show any exceptional anomalies the pain in the knees intensified. Simultaneously we had to learn
that our computer went on strike: Shortly after the startup it started to freeze. With a lot of efforts and a "rescue program" we were able
to save all the uncopied data and reloading the operating system. Afterwards it was time to download all the programs and program-
updates from the internet – broadband access in Sri Lanka cannot be compared with the one used in the USA! In between Emil got
various medications, which unfortunately didn't help yet.

At least we could start preparing the 174 selected pictures and legends from our Socotra trip, as well as the 48 from the U.A.E.. But
more difficulties showed up and our planned departure was averted: On March 31st, Emil caught the Dengue Fever, which he contracted
presumably by a mosquito bite on a lake in the interior of the island. At least on the 5th day, he was able to write the "News". We hope
for the understanding that firstly many emails couldn't get replied yet and that secondly our website had a time of very low activities.

Before Dambulla/Sri Lanka: March 18th, 2011, impressive Buddha statue along highway #6

Hence we try our very best to satisfy everything; because – as weird as it might be – we have already to prepare our departure and at
the same time the entrance into our next country, though we didn't really set off touring Sri Lanka yet.
