- 'Google-Analytics' showed 29'672 Pageviews during May. The visitors come from ~220 countries!

- On April 28, 2013, we left our beloved "Arabia" on the Iranian ferry "Hormuz 12". The following morning we landed without any problems in
- Bandar Abbas in Iran. 2'100 miles of road followed via Shiraz, Yazd, Esfahan and Sanandaj until the Turkish border of Esendere. Initially we
- intended to visit Iraqi Kurdistan from the Turkish side, but the overzealous and nervous Turkish military slowed our momentum to the point of
- canceling at Hakkari our plan for the moment. Hence we decided to head from the Kurdish area outright to Georgia that lies more northerly.
- Spring time in Eastern Anatolia was in full swing – all over red, yellow, pink and blue flower fields. After more than 700 miles and after having
- made a detour to Ani, the old Armenian capital (yr. 961), now on the Turkish side, near Hopa we reached the shores of the Black Sea, where
- the next border crossing to Georgia isn't far away. Arriving at the beach resort town of Batumi was also arriving in our 173rd country. After all
- the mosques we have seen lately, we saw suddenly orthodox churches. Having experienced a long period of Arabian and Persian script plus
- one week of a nearly decipherable Turkish language, we are puzzling today over a new alphabet, the Georgian, which seems at a first glance
- to have similarities with the Burmese.
- Two days ago we reached the Georgian capital Tbilisi, a megacity on the river Kura, called in Georgian language Mtkvari. But we won't stay
- a long time because our "difficult" visa for our next country, Azerbaijan, expires already at the end of June. Also that country will have a lot of
- novelties for us. It's not only another language with its peculiarity – although it belongs like Turkish to the Turkic language family – but after the
- Iranian Rial, the Turkish Lira and the Georgian Lari once more a new currency, the Azerbaijan Manat. Like already Georgia, Azerbaijan and
- also the following Armenia, all were parts of the Sovietunion before 1991. But also Armenia owns a distinct language with a strange script,
- and what else to expect, a different currency – the Armenian Dram.
