------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For our LandCruiser this is not only the ending of the Malaysian chapter with its second "Rejuvenation"; it was at the same time also the third
visit on the island of Borneo. The 26th container voyage with Evergreen Marine will ship it within about 22 days to the port of Jebel Ali outside
of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. After 1994, 1996 and 1999 it will be our fourth visit to this country and its neighboring Oman. Already
back in June the freight with PIL-Line from Réunion to Sarawak did cost the same US$ 850 like today with Evergreen Marine to Dubai. The
port fees of US$ 320 each at Bintulu were within the Southeast Asian frame.

Although we were not able to repair everything, we are very happy with the overall result. But we need to have made soon a rear main spring
leaf and to find suitable shock absorbers for our heavy car. Six years passed since our first "Rejuvenation". At that time we invested into the
bodywork US$ 4'160, the engine overhaul US$ 1'450 and for the transmission/gearbox renovation US$ 800, totally about US$ 6'400. Today,
the expenses for the work amounted to US$ 2'870 and another US$ 3'160 for the spare parts, e.g. steering gear (~US$ 1'730), clutch, etc.,
totally a bit more than US$ 6'000. While last time we could do "house-sitting" in Miri, now we had to take a room in the Park City Everly
Hotel for US$ 36/day, based on a monthly rate. However, the workshop owner offered us an older replacement car for free for the whole
period.

In the Middle East we should now experience the climatically good season. On November 16th, after 112 days, we will leave Miri by flying
with Malaysian Airlines to Singapore, where we shall stay for two days before driving with a bus to Kuala Lumpur for another two days. This
is our 15th visit to this city. In the morning of November 20th, we shall proceed with Air Asia to Sri Lanka, to continue late evening with
Air Arabia – a similar budget line like Air Asia – from Colombo to Sharjah. Provided that the vessel arrives in time, the day of 11/21/2012
will be filled out completely with the procedure of the car release. Afterwards the real camping life will restart since a long time again!

Bintulu/Sarawak/Malaysia: Into the 26th container bound for Jebel Ali/Dubai/United Arab Emirates

This camping life will stay with us for the next two to three months (may be also longer). Then we shall decide whether we head West, North
or East – depending on the political and security situation.
