- Website statistics: 'Webalizer' has been shut down definitively in February 2013. 'Logaholic' is the current counter.
- 'Logaholic' shows now the following figures in May 2015: 19'421 visits / 92'743 pages
- 'Google-Analytics' showed 19'866 pageviews during May. The visitors come from ~232 countries!

- Our month of May was "crowned" by the following highlights: 1) Mozambique visa in Nelspruit; 2) Blyde River Canyon; 3)
- Kruger National Park; 4) alternator repair at Polokwane; 5) Tuli Game Reserve in Botswana; 6) Reunion with world travel
- friends Eddie & Gisela from Germany after 4'795 days (>13 years); 7) Kubu (Baobab) Island in Botswana.
- – To get the visa for Mozambique was actually straightforward: It was issued within 24 hours and has to be used within 60
- days – a hotel reservation (anywhere) had to be shown (we did it through www.booking.com). Mozambique will be our
- 182nd country in our >30½ years world journey.
- – The Blyde River region in the northern Drakensberg is indeed worth visiting with its scenic highlights of "God's Window"
- and the "3 Rondavels".
- – Unfortunately there were some obstacles in the Kruger National Park, because its campsites are nearly always "chronically"
- booked out, hence we could visit it only as day visitors.
- – As you know nothing is made to last for ever: With that said, the regulator bought on May 1st, 1989, in Biskra/Algeria
- stopped working after 9'508 days/325'626 miles/15'225.6 driving hours in Haenertsburg near Polokwane (former
- Pietersburg)/South Africa. It wasn't easy at all to find a somewhat working replacement and even if we hit paydirt the
- alternator had to be adjusted to run finally.
- – The northern Tuli Game Reserve at the border triangle of South Africa-Zimbabwe-Botswana is still very pristine. It starts
- immediately after customs of South Africa as the Limpopo River has to be crossed – no bridge, no ford. Afterwards the 4x4
- track leads through the bush and improves gradually only later to a gravel road before Selebi-Pickhwe. It was special in that
- way as there were no fences and that pretty much small game could be spotted.
- – On May 18th, our "co-world-travelers" Eddi and Gisela arrived in Francistown, whom we got to know already on
- April 7th, 1989, on the Assekrem in the Hoggar Massif in Southern Algeria, and who visited us in March 2002 at Morongo
- Valley/California. While they were still driving a Unimog until mid 2007, they arrived in Francistown with their new Mercedes
- Sprinter.
- – 10 days later we brought ourselves to the bush trip to Kubu Island along the Sua Pan (part of the Makgadikgadi Pan
- system) – once more an off-road challenge. We struggled for three hours over partly sandy and rocky narrow tracks, but the
- "battle" was worthwhile. Kubu – also called Lekhubu – consists of a granite outcrop in the middle of the Sua Pan, a salt lake
- that is currently dry), dotted with wonderful Baobabs, called also "African monkey bread" or "bottle tree". Although there
- were also Baobabs in Madagascar, those looked completely different.

- Currently we are in the "Central Kalahari" village of Letlhakane and are writing the monthly "News". The bygone month of
- May was once more very diversified. What will bring June? In a few days we shall cross the border to Zimbabwe, our 51st
- country in October 1991. How shall we find this country today? We hope to write more about it in the "News June 2015".
- Depending on the situation we possibly might be already in the "new land" of Mozambique, which back in 1991 still suffered
- from civil war.
