- Website statistics: 'Webalizer' has been shut down definitively in February 2013. 'Logaholic' is the current counter.
- 'Logaholic' shows now the following figures in July 2015: 17'941 visits / 84'779 pages
- 'Google-Analytics' showed 18'703 pageviews during May. The visitors come from 233 countries!

- Update August 8th, 2015:
- It got us! One week ago, in the night from July 31st to August 1st, we got assaulted by four bandits – two of them were
- armed with pistols – on the campsite of the 'Safari Beach Lodge" near Nkhotakota at Lake Malawi. Emil got a graze at the
- forearm and our LandCruiser was damaged. Further details will be put online on our website during the next days together
- with pictures → new on August 15th, 2015: Armed Robbery in Malawi on July 31st/August 1st 2015.

- Brief introduction since "News" May 31, 2015 – because we didn't publish any "News" in June :
- - May 31st: Letlhakane/Botswana, shortly after our wonderful visit to "Kubu Island" with the baobabs
- - June 8th: Departure from Botswana after 24 days = 704 miles [1'133km] = 33½ driving hours, afterwards entry into
- Zimbabwe at Plumtree (= country #51)
- - June 24th: Meeting with a traveler friend from 1991, Bettina in Marondera/Zimbabwe
- - July 3rd: Second coincidental reencounter of our traveler friends Eddi & Gisela at Chimanimani/Zimbabwe
- - July 6th: Departure from Zimbabwe after 28 days = 893 miles [1'437km] = 41½ driving hours, afterwards entry into
- Mozambique at Espungabeira, our 182nd country on our epic journey
- - July 17th: Visit of Cahora Bassa dam in Mozambique, one of the big reservoir dams of the world
- - July 20th: Departure from Mozambique after 14 days = 836 miles [1'346km] = 36½ driving hours, afterwards entry into
- Malawi at Dedza (= country #50)
- As we noted at 'Google Analytics' the numbers of visitors on our website decreased steadily during the last months. This
- results certainly on one side from the general trend of decline of website visitors, but on the other side also because we
- couldn't anymore bring online new picture sites since March 27th, i.e. since Namibia. We really would like to apologize for
- this phenomenon, but the main reason lies with "Africa": Rarely wireless; the mobile net is pretty expensive and works often
- only with 2G procedure (slow to very slow); inappropriate camping sites to check the pictures "shot", to select and to process
- them. Currently there are 5'565 photos from South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and
- Malawi waiting to be handled and its captions to be elaborated. Everything is exacerbated by the limited tourist residence
- permits (visas) of the various countries, as we don't want to sit always in front of the laptop but would like explore also the
- places of interest.
- Arriving in Mozambique we reached the "real black" Africa, where nothing is granted like a westerner might would wish or
- expect. Strictly speaking, the first signs appeared already in eastern Zimbabwe. But also in the countries that are influenced
- more by South Africa (e.g. the South African Customs Union), the situation isn't anymore the same as it was between
- October 30th, 1991, and November 2nd, 1992, when we visited them for the first time. But where don't changes occur?
- However we have to admit that we see also progresses (specifically for us are ATM/cash terminals, internet, road conditions,
- abolishing money declarations and its black market rates). Unfortunately it seems that all these progresses are rendered void
- immediately due to the explosions of the overpopulation – not to talk about the ruthless exploitation of the nature.Who ever
- might be guilty for it is an issue that bothers nearly all of the African travelers.

- Our future itinerary looks now more or less as follows: Northwards within Malawi to cross about mid-August over to
- Tanzania (= country #46). Country #49 – Zambia – isn't likely to be visited anymore, but Kenya (= #45) will follow if we don't
- choose the "western version" via Uganda (= #44). But then it's time for our next new country, number 183: Either it will be
- Ethiopia or South Sudan, whereas the latter might have (still) no chance.
